WIDER LENS

Visual identity for the Directors Guild of Canada content platform.

 

Wider Lens is a space for conversations that peer beyond the frame of film and TV productions, showcasing the realities of being a creative in the industry. It is podcasts, monthly newsletters, online zines, interview series, and in-person events.

 
 
 
 

The design system uses a big, bold typeface that acts as a window to the content and goes “wider” by literally stretching itself to reach new limits. This stretch is a lever to be pulled in animations and all kinds of aspect ratios — filling up the entire frame while creating immediate visual interest that makes DGC’s point of view clear.
