UNTOLD

UNTOLD

Show branding for Channel 4’s new brave docu-series.

UNTOLD is a new current affairs strand aimed at 16-34 year olds. It aims to be intelligent, brave and entertaining documentary-making that holds power to account, reveals what is going on behind closed doors, reflects the lives of 16-34 year olds and, crucially, asks what the solutions are to everything from inequality to climate change.

The noisy, risk-taking tone of each documentary called for a no nonsense visual direction. It was necessary to cut through the minefield of misinformation and low quality clickbait online to provide authority and clarity. We also had to take into account working with stills, not key art, to bring the world of each episode to life, as well as their pov and tov.

We came up with a visual approach that plays with perspective to allude to all the different faces of a story, the journey taken on each episode and how it’s told.

The Untold brand colour is bright red — a nod to the News and Current Affairs world, but with a bolder tone.

Rotations on axis and snappy digital motions make up the world of the UNTOLD brand.
